Objective
Its objective was to promote transnational mobility through the design of new tourist routes and products based on UNESCO World Heritage Sites (tangible and intangible), together with the promotion of local gastronomy, in order to offer a unique experience to the visitor: "living the culture".
The overall objective of the project was to increase the sustainability and competitiveness of tourist destinations during the mid and low seasons, combating seasonality through international cooperation, and promoting senior tourism. It was implemented by a consortium of organisations located in several EU countries: Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Greece, France, Estonia and Slovakia.
Another aim of the project was to design tourism packages specifically focused on two demand segments: seniors aged 55-65; and seniors over 65; with the firm purpose of satisfying their needs and demands.
In this way, Forever Young! aimed to create a unique tourism offer, linked to industrial and cultural heritage and promoting a new cultural model: experiential learning and full immersion in the destination country to enjoy its tangible and intangible assets, such as traditions (gastronomy), accommodation (agritourism and host families), cultural heritage (UNESCO sites), products (crafts and wine production) and traditions (festivities). Senior tourists would then be able to fully engage in the unique experience of "living the culture".
